Review #2,000! OVERALL Taqueria Villa Nueva is a Mexican restaurant in Hobbs, NM that serves the best torta I've tried in the dusty small town. This is a great place for a family meal. RATING BREAKDOWN Food: 4.5 | Service: 5 | Ambiance: 4 | Price: 4 PARKING I parked near the front door but only because the place wasn't all that busy. I wish they would paint some parking lines or make it more clear where their drive-thru window begins and ends. Otherwise, it's not that far to walk with nearby street parking. LOCATION/AMBIANCE The dining room has a couple of beautiful murals inside. The buffet area was set up near the register and the kitchen. There were several different sizes of tables. They played a Spanish radio station in the background with good melodies, but way too many commercials at just before noon. THE GRUB As soon as I saw the opportunity for a torta de barbacoa ($9.99), I requested it. This Mexican sandwich was absolutely delicious. I wanted everything on it - meat, avocado, lettuce, tomato, & potatoes. This was an awesome portion for lunch. On the side was a batch of lukewarm shoestring fries which were not seasoned at all. I didn't eat many of them, so next time I will see if they will swap them fries for some arroz Mexicano! Lol. The nice lady asked me which salsa I wanted - "red or green?" I laughed and said both. She obliged. The red is definitely spicier than their green, but still I could not stop eating it. LITTLE YELPER'S CLUB No kid's menu available that I saw. There were high chairs/slings, though. SERVICE Welcoming & friendly! My takeout order was out in about 5 minutes. MY FAVORITE PART... The barbacoa! NOT SO FAVORITE PART... The fries! TIP Lunch buffet looked really good.

Driving thru New Mexico, headed to Roswell, found this excellent place in Hobbs. Buffet is excellent some spicy some not but all have excellent flavor, soups, enchiladas, pozole was on point. I'm sitting here eating the beans and rice in a bowl from the buffet as I wrote this review. If your around here, stop in, your won't be disappointed.

Best place in hobbs to eat Mexican food in my opinion, we went around 2pm no one there was a little worried but the buffet did not disappoint, asado, green Chile, enchiladas, asada, pasole it was all excellent and the service was spot on

Came here today for lunch after I saw a post on Facebook. Really enjoyed the buffet style options. They had lots of good stuff I stuck with my usual rice,beans,enchiladas and pork with red Chile sauce which was really good. And they had a small salad, fruit, desert table but I didn't try anything from there maybe next time. I will definitely come back another day for lunch.

You can get Tex-Mex, or New Mexico-Mex food anywhere. It's basically meat filled with cheese and more cheese anything with extras cheeses. But not this place. We were blown away by how authentic it was. Service can be a bit slow, but only because it's freshly made food. Yeah go for the Buffett, because you're basic. And that's totally cool. But order off the menu. Just do it fam. Reasonably priced and a nice little spot in Hobbs. It gets busy on the weekends. Pozole, real asado, tortillas, need I say no more?

Okay I was a little scared at first but the food here is AMAZING! I ordered the Asado and the Guisado Verde and oh my God when I open it up at home I was like oh it's kind of small but it was delicious! Amazing flavor! It was Simply Delicious. while I was there people ordering the large soups and they came out in like this huge bowl and I just wish I was able to stay another day so I can go there and eat it because it looked delicious. Do not be afraid of the outside or the distance to get there because this place is well worth it.

Oh my gosh! Best authentic Mexican food I've ever had! We enjoyed the buffet. Lunch was reasonably priced. Great assortment of wonderful food. We will go out of our way to come back.

Their buffet was really gopd. My son went back for 7 trips total with 3 plates of enchiladas! He loved it! This was our first Mexican buffet and we were very happy we made this stop while in Hobbs.

Came in to eat on a whim, was very surprised. Very good food and great waitress. The prices were reasonable. The only down side was the wait. We waited for our food for 51 min. But it was worth it. I will be coming back
